Nosferatu

Film Review

Nosferatu” is like a nightmare — a beautiful nightmare in which reality and fantasy blend, danger lurks constantly alongside seduction and notions of good and evil become secondary to impressionistic impulses. Just let Robert Eggers make all the horror movies, I say.

OK, not all of them. There have been plenty of exceptional horror movies this year. Just let him make whichever ones he wants. The director of “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse” (I’m not a fan of “The Northman,” though it has its following) knows how to create a world of his own and drag his audience into it, no matter how terrifying that world may be.
